"Eclipse was led by keyboardist Pierre Gauthier, formerly of Aut'chose. He is joined on their first eponymous album, released in 1976, by vocalist Marie-France Paquin (from Genèse, a previous group of Gauthier's), keyboardist Daniel Barbe (who played with Jacques Blais, among mothers), bassist Yoland Houle and percussionist Pierre Tremblay. The band had two moog players, and their material could get quite spacey at times." - Progquebec.com

"Eclipse was a progressive rock band which featured 3 band members from Montreal and one from Manitoba. The album became notorious by the massive extended 16-bar drum break and heavy scat funk fusion/moog workout on “Le reve de John W.” Elsewhere the listener is treated to a beautiful range of progressive rock moves (a la Dark Side Of The Moon-era Pink Floyd) featuring Pierre Gauthier (formerly of Aut’chose) (guitar, synth), Marie-France Paquin (vocals), Daniel Barbe (piano, syth), Yoland Houle (bass, congas), Pierre Tremblay (percussion, electronics, synth), and Chris Castle (drums).
