Rued Langgaard

Sfærernes musik (Music of the spheres) (1916) ...

Rued Langgaard, Danish composer (1893 - 1952), inspired yet again by planetary motion, divided his orchestra and vocalists to create a spatial music, long before Stockhausen ...Influenced by Wagner and Strauss, he's a  great orchestrator, very dramatic ...



Langgaard's extensive use of slow moving string clusters prompted the composer György Ligeti to proclaim himself a "Langgaard-epigone" when presented with the score in the late 1960s. ...

Anthony Manning ...

Chromium Nebulae is Anthony Manning's second album and the first to use actual keyboards.  His first experiments were made painstakingly on a Roland R8 drum machine working from a graphic score.  This was an attempt at a less abstract sound but was still way outside the boundaries of mid-1990s techno-based music...  All of his music is now available at Archive.org ...
